Our company «Kruuga» re-creates long-forgotten cooking recipes Karelian peoples.
We work at the researching of ethnocultural traditions to give the chance to our contemporaries to taste the unique national Karelian sweets. We cooked only in the traditional way with natural products without preservatives. And now everyone can appreciate taste quality of the Karelian cuisine tasting sweets.
From old centuries in Karelia there aren’t great abundance of food variety because of geographic characteristics. Food was prepared of products obtained from hunting or fishing and from forest and fields. Bread was made from rye and oat. In Russia and Karelia honey was used instead of sugar. Sweets were contained honey and berries. Special crackers were also prepared.
We have re-created these national Karelian sweets. Taste them!
